SANTA BARBARA BEACH YOGA // OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

Santa Barbara Beach Yoga is a community-centered, outdoor yoga studio with multiple locations in the heart of Santa Barbara’s bustling beach town, featuring some of SB’s best yoga instructors.

Seeking a part-time Operations Coordinator who will work collaboratively as part of our expanding team to produce yoga events across multiple outdoor yoga studio locations. MORE ABOUT THE ROLE

The Operations Coordinator position is responsible for assisting with the business’s day-to-day activities, logistics, and operations. Includes management of the equipment and check-in stations, coordination with the teaching staff, and assisting with the administrative functions of the company.

This part-time, approximately 2-5 hours per week position offers a yoga membership and opportunity to work directly with SB Beach Yoga’s Assistant Studio Manager and Owner. Starting compensation is $22 per hour with room to grow. RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a representative list of the typical responsibilities of the position. Though intended to be a thorough description, it is not necessarily a comprehensive and exclusive description of the position:

  • Customer Service/Check-in Set up

    • Greet and check-in students to class using the company registration system, Momence. 

    • Drop-in, Membership and Class Pack Sales

    • Assist students with clear instructions on how to use the headphone gear, when necessary. 

    • Assist with managing client accounts, including account exceptions and collections.

    • Uphold a friendly, welcoming and professional attitude and demeanor while at work.

    • Strive to create a great environment for staff & students, get to know clients by name, and build community among all the moving parts that makes us who we are.

  • Equipment Management

    • Assist with general management of audio gear including headsets for Beach Yoga classes (pre and post classes)

    • Coordinate pick-up/drop off of gear (overall logistics of yoga events that require the gear)

    • Sanitize, charge and potentially store gear when necessary

    • Transport gear and create check-in set up prior to Beach Yoga classes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Live in Santa Barbara at the time of application.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. 

  • High level proficiency in basic computing skills; know how to use online efficiency tools such as Google G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Slides), etc.

  • Self-starter, highly proactive and reliable

  • Flexibility to work hours determined by business levels and needs of the services offered, under the direction of the Assistant Manager and the Owner. This may include holidays, weekends, and early morning or late evening work.

  • Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities.

  • Excellent time management, project management, organizational skills.

  • Professional, resourceful, consistent and have a great work ethic and positive attitude.

  • Maintain and value accountability (both with yourself and others).

  • Must be available to work weekends and some weekdays including evenings. 

  • Must be able to lift at least 25-30lbs.

  • Must have a car with room for secure storage of equipment, and be willing and able to use your own vehicle.

  • Works well in a collaborative environment, but can take initiative and be independent.

  • Must be able to work throughout Santa Barbara County.

PREFERRED

  • A passion for the wellness industry, the benefits of yoga and mindful practices

  • Experience with customer service facing the public and/or retail

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, stand, and hear. Must be capable of carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 25-30lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Outdoors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions.
